MY TECH STACK AND RECOMMENDATIONS

I use a variety of different software and solutions in my role as a practice owner and GP and am finding more every week.

I believe promoting and discussing good off the shelf solutions helps the industry grow. Ultimately I do my best work as a GP when I can focus on the patient and their care. Any solutions that help me work more efficiently or practice more safely are a welcome addition to my day!

Below are some vendors and providers I’ve been trying lately with my thoughts. All opinions are my own. This is a bit of a work in progress so check back in over time.

Ever wondered what it would be like if My Health Record worked? Well FindMI has done this with radiology. They have all your imaging providers in one place and search them all at the same time for the patient in front of you. My wife is a surgeon and was thrilled when I showed her this - no more logging in to 5 different providers looking for an MRI the patient is sure they had “somewhere local”! I’ve been recommending Scripty to my patients for about 6 months now and love that it frees up patients to use their e-scripts properly. So many pharmacies have locked patient script tokens into their own branded apps which is the digital equivalent to leaving your physical scripts with the pharmacist so patients “don’t lose them….”. Love an app that allows patients to hold their e-scripts in a usable format while also giving them the freedom to move between stores. Find out more HERE

I’ve been a Heidi fan since way back. AI scribe program, fantastic templating, a deep focus on privacy and a local Australian company. Has a free version to play with which will reassure you that it’s worth paying for pro. Cheaper than Lyrebird and just a better feel when I tested them side by side. Highly recommend.
